Bryan Kohberger pleaded guilty to the brutal murders of four University of Idaho students, but he now claims his attorneys pressured him into confessing despite his innocence.
In a petition filed Monday, Kohberger seeks to withdraw his guilty plea in the 2022 stabbing deaths of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin.

The killings occurred at a house in Moscow, Idaho.
Kohberger was a graduate student at Washington State University at the time; the victims attended the University of Idaho.

In July 2025, Kohberger admitted in court to the four murders as part of a plea deal that spared him the death penalty and sentenced him to life in prison without parole.

Now, Kohberger argues that his attorneys—Anne Taylor, Bicka Barlow, and Jay Logsdon—are responsible for his confession.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Kohberger stated that his lawyers insisted his "plea need not be truthful, despite his vehement denial of actual guilt."

The accusation is striking, and TMZ has reached out to each of Kohberger's attorneys for comment but has not received a response.
