Christina Ricci's ex-husband, James Heerdegen, has taken their custody dispute back to court, citing an alleged incident where the actress drank alcohol on a plane with their son, Freddie.
Heerdegen filed for an emergency hearing after Freddie reportedly contacted him and claimed Ricci consumed alcohol during their June 16 flight to Canada.

However, when Freddie spoke with his legal representative, he said he "overreacted" in sending those messages and that his description of Ricci's alcohol consumption was not accurate, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
Freddie added that he had "no fear in continuing to be" in his mother's custody.

Heerdegen requested alcohol testing for Ricci, but the court denied the motion.
The court also ruled that any specific records of the incident Heerdegen intends to file must remain sealed, citing a threat to Freddie's mental health.

Ricci and Heerdegen's divorce was finalized in 2022 after a contentious split.
Ricci filed for divorce in 2020, and Heerdegen later sought a restraining order against her, alleging alcohol and substance abuse.

Ricci had previously obtained an emergency protective order after an altercation where she claimed Heerdegen spit on her.
