Daveigh Chase's mother is speaking out about her daughter's long battle with drug addiction and the premonition she had that the actress would die young.
Cathy Chase, who described herself as "devastated," told The Daily Mail that Daveigh became addicted to painkillers following a serious motorcycle accident around 2016.

That incident marked the start of a downward spiral.
Cathy said she knew her daughter was "seeking drugs and was partying with the wrong people." By 2019, she said Daveigh was "completely gone."
In October 2019, Cathy visited Daveigh in jail after she was charged with two counts of burglary. She recalled her daughter being "out of her mind."

"I honestly thought there was something wrong with her. My daughter was never diagnosed with mental health other than PTSD.
But the drugs took hold of her," Cathy said.
Daveigh's friends had desperately searched for her on Los Angeles' Skid Row before her death after she went missing amid personal struggles.
TMZ previously reported she was living in an RV with her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, just minutes from Skid Row until June 3, when she was admitted to a local hospital.

Daveigh died in the hospital from meningitis and a blood infection, which caused septic issues that led to her body shutting down.
Cathy told The Daily Mail she would search for her daughter's name on the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's website during her addiction.
"I would look at their list of unidentified bodies. It was very difficult, but you do everything you can as a mother," she said.
