Qualcomm is reportedly testing two versions of its upcoming Snapdragon flagship chipset, both built on a 2nm process.

The standard model will support LPDDR5X memory, while a higher-end Pro variant will feature faster LPDDR6 memory.

Both versions share the same core clock speeds, with the key difference being the memory type.

The Pro model also adds UFS 5.0 storage support, offering higher performance for demanding tasks.

Manufactured on TSMC's advanced 2nm node, the chipset is expected to deliver significant gains in performance and battery efficiency.

It is aimed at premium Ultra flagships launching in 2027.

The Pro version could cost manufacturers over $300 per unit.

Qualcomm's dual-version strategy allows brands to choose the more affordable LPDDR5X variant for slightly cheaper flagships or opt for the LPDDR6 version for maximum bandwidth and improved on-device AI performance.

Early block diagrams indicate a high-end layout with a stronger GPU, rumored to be the Adreno 850 in the Pro model.

Binned versions with 7-core CPU setups may appear later at different price points.

This approach responds to rising costs in the premium segment. LPDDR6 models will target top-tier buyers, while LPDDR5X versions could bring near-flagship experiences to a wider audience.

More official details are expected later in 2026.
