Newly released bodycam footage captures Karmelo Anthony crying out to police moments after he stabbed Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas, in April 2025.
In the video, Anthony wails that Metcalf touched him after he warned him not to, seemingly trying to justify the fatal stabbing.
He later calms down and becomes compliant with officers.
During his initial detainment, Anthony confirms he is not an “alleged suspect,” stating plainly, “I did it.”
Self-Defense Claim Rejected
Anthony was arrested and charged with murder the same day.
At his trial in June, a jury rejected his self-defense argument and found him guilty of murder, sentencing him to 35 years in prison.
His legal team has begun the appeal process, and his family continues to fight for his release.
