The update emphasizes a cleaner design, smarter AI, and smoother performance.
Its standout visual change is a new liquid glass design language.
Honor developed it using its Luminous and Hummingbird architectures to make the interface more dynamic and support AI tasks efficiently.
Despite the translucent effects, Honor says animations are up to 20% faster than on MagicOS 10.
Icons, menus, and widgets have been refreshed, and users can now tint home-screen icons and the dock as they like.
AI and Storage Upgrades
The updated Yoyo assistant can handle over 1,000 scenarios and works with more than 10,000 third-party AI services, mostly in China.
It is also designed to perform complex, multi-step tasks involving up to 100 individual actions.
Storage Space 2.0 uses lossless compression that can free up as much as 60 GB of space.
Connectivity has improved with better file sharing and pairing support for Apple devices as well as phones from Oppo, vivo, and Xiaomi.
MagicOS 11 will first roll out on the upcoming Honor Magic 9 series.
A public beta is already live for 18 models, including the Magic8 series, Magic V6, and Honor 600 models.
A second batch covering the Magic6 series, Magic V3, and the Honor 400 and 500 series can sign up for an internal beta.
A wider release is expected sometime between October and November.
