Timex has introduced the Deepwater Meridian 200 HEV Automatic, a new line of automatic dive watches now available in the United States.
The models push the brand's hardware specifications higher, aiming at the entry-level mechanical tool watch segment with features usually found at higher price points.
Case, Movement, and Dive Features
The watch uses a 44mm polished stainless steel case, with a lug-to-lug measurement of 51mm and a thickness of 15.5mm.
Inside sits a Japanese Miyota 21-jewel automatic movement, self-winding through wrist motion and offering a 40-hour power reserve.
Water resistance is rated at 200 meters, backed by a screw-down crown with a protective guard and a screw-on case back.
At 10 o'clock, an automatic helium escape valve releases trapped helium during decompression in saturation diving.
Timex notes the valve is rarely useful for most users but reflects traditional professional-grade dive watch engineering.
For legibility, Super-Luminova is applied to the hands, hour markers, and the unidirectional rotating top ring.
The 120-click bezel carries a ceramic inlay, adding scratch resistance to a high-wear area.
An anti-reflective sapphire crystal covers the dial, a durability standard for this category.
Two Variants and Pricing
Two variants are offered at launch.
The first pairs a silver-white vertically brushed dial with a black bezel and a stainless steel fold-over clasp bracelet for $499.
The second variant has a metallic blue dial, a blue bezel, and a black HNBR synthetic rubber strap for $469.
