Rep.
Lauren Boebert said late-night votes on Capitol Hill can get rowdy, and this time she suggested Democrats brought the extra energy.
The Colorado congresswoman spoke outside the Capitol on Tuesday night after a lengthy House session that did not adjourn until 10:44 PM.
Boebert was dressed more casually than usual, wearing an American flag sweater and pants, though she pointed out she still had heels on.
Asked about the vibe during late-night votes, Boebert said her Freedom Caucus crew is usually the rowdy bunch.
She joked they are sometimes under the influence of a little "Holy Ghost fire."
But on Tuesday night, she said the other side of the aisle was noticeably louder than usual.
That prompted her to wonder, "What are you under the influence of?"
Boebert did not outright claim Democrats were actually drinking or using anything.
When the possibility of lawmakers having a drink was raised, she pointed instead to dinner, with a wink.
She said she and others went to Founding Farmers before the late session.
With pasta, burgers, chicken, fish and more on the menu, she joked lawmakers might spend more time debating what to order than they do half the bills in Congress.
She quickly added she was kidding, well, a little bit.
The House held several recorded votes Tuesday before continuing floor business into the night.
