Jimmy Kimmel says his interview with James Talarico was pulled from television after alleged pressure from President Trump's FCC.
During Wednesday's monologue on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
he said the sit-down with Talarico, a Democrat running for a Senate seat in Texas, was meant for Thursday's broadcast.
Instead, Kimmel said the interview will not air on TV and will be posted on YouTube.
Kimmel Points to FCC Pressure
Kimmel blamed Trump for getting the interview spiked, claiming the president sicced the Federal Communications Commission on his bosses.
He said that over more than 20 years of hosting, he has interviewed many politicians, including Hillary Clinton and Trump, without issue.
Kimmel also recalled interviewing Trump in 2015 during Trump's first presidential race.
According to Kimmel, Trump had no problem with talk show hosts interviewing candidates and was eager to return to the show before becoming the 2016 Republican nominee.
Kimmel said that now that Trump is president again, things have changed.
He claimed Trump has threatened him, his show and ABC over what Kimmel described as simple editorial decisions and guest bookings.
The host and Trump have clashed for years.
Kimmel was briefly taken off the air by ABC after controversial remarks about the assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
When he returned, Trump criticized ABC for bringing him back.
