A new leak has revealed an upcoming tablet from HMD and Xplora, designed specifically for children and their parents.
The device, called the Xplora Go Pad, appears to prioritize durability over raw performance.
It features a compact 8.7-inch IPS LCD screen, though resolution and refresh rate details are still unknown.
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 chip, a 6nm processor with four Cortex-A73 performance cores and four Cortex-A53 efficiency cores.
The chip includes a 4G modem, enabling cellular connectivity alongside Wi-Fi.
Charging is capped at 18W, but the battery capacity has not been disclosed.
Memory and storage options also remain unconfirmed.
Durability and parental controls seem to be the main focus of the Go Pad.
The tablet is said to have an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance and can withstand drops from up to 100 cm.
On the software side, it includes a comprehensive set of parental tools, such as web detection, education-focused AI features, and harmful-content blocking.
Parents can manage internet and social media access, approve contacts, set screen time limits, and track location.
This continues the partnership between HMD and Norwegian company Xplora, which previously collaborated on the Fusion X1 smartphone.
The Go Pad takes the same approach but offers a larger screen suited for learning and supervised media use.
Pricing, availability, and a complete spec sheet are not yet available, and neither HMD nor Xplora has officially commented on the leak.
Nevertheless, the combination of rugged build, cellular connectivity, and strong parental management tools suggests the Go Pad is positioned as a practical, safer option for families.
