Anker has launched the 45W Smart+ Charger in China, now available on JD. com for 149 yuan ($22).
This gallium nitride (GaN) charger includes a built-in color display and software support for Apple's newer devices, including the iPhone 17 series.
Display and design
The charger measures 34 x 35.5 x 40mm and weighs 75 grams.
Its front features a small color screen showing real-time charging metrics like power output, battery level, device details, and charging progress.
The display can be rotated by holding the control button for two seconds, and you can set it to turn off automatically after one or five minutes.
The folding plug locks into 90-degree and 180-degree positions, making it easier to route cables in tight spaces.
Smart features and compatibility
Internally, it supports Apple's AVS dynamic fast-charging protocol, adjusting voltage and power based on the connected device.
Anker says the charger can identify iPhone 15, iPhone 16, and iPhone 17 series, applying specific charging curves for these models.
It also supports over-the-air firmware updates via the Anker mobile app for future hardware compatibility.
A physical button switches between Smart Fast Charging and Device Protection Mode, which uses a slower curve for overnight charging.
Anker claims that using protection mode for half of charging sessions can reduce battery degradation by around 20% over time.
The charger uses ActiveShield 5.0 for thermal management and holds a TÜV Rheinland low-temperature certification.
For other electronics, it works as a standard 45W USB-C adapter with output profiles of 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/3A, and 20V/2.25A.
It is compatible with iPads, MacBook Airs, Android smartphones, and handhelds like the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck.
The charger comes in four colors: Aurora White, Morning Mist Blue, Anker Black, and Burgundy Red.
