Xiaomi has launched the Buds 6 wireless earbuds in global markets, following their initial release in China last year.

The earbuds are priced at £99.99 in the UK and €119.99 in Europe, positioning them in the competitive mid-range audio segment.

Design and audio features

The Buds 6 feature a semi-in-ear design similar to standard AirPods, without silicone tips that seal the ear canal.

Xiaomi has refined the ergonomics, reducing the stem thickness by 12% and the sound outlet by 11.3% to improve comfort.

Each earbud weighs 4.4 grams.

The charging case comes in Graphite Black, Pearl White, Titan Gray, and Nebula Purple.

For audio, the earbuds use an 11mm triple-magnet dynamic driver with a 24k gold-plated diaphragm.

They support Qualcomm's aptX Lossless codec, enabling transmission rates up to 2.1 Mbps at 24-bit/48kHz on compatible devices.

Xiaomi partnered with the Harman Golden Ear Team for EQ tuning and included an adaptive sound algorithm that adjusts frequencies based on the user's ear canal shape.

Active noise cancellation and connectivity

The Buds 6 feature active noise cancellation (ANC) using a three-microphone array to filter background noise and handle wind speeds up to 12m/s during calls.

Due to the semi-in-ear design, the ANC primarily reduces low-frequency ambient hums rather than providing full isolation.

The earbuds support both Apple's Find My network and Google's Find Hub, making them compatible across different mobile ecosystems.

They also include a standalone audio recording function: tapping the charging case three times records live conversations or calls, even with the lid closed.

The earbuds offer up to six hours of playback on a single charge and a total of 35 hours with the charging case.

They are IP54-rated for water and dust resistance and support multipoint Bluetooth for connecting to two devices simultaneously.

Xiaomi is bundling a three-month trial of Spotify Premium for new subscribers, redeemable through the Xiaomi Earbuds app until August 2026.
