Pokémon is facing a class-action lawsuit after a former engineering director allegedly set up hidden cameras in bathrooms at its Bellevue, Washington office.
The lawsuit, filed by a woman identified as Jane Doe, accuses The Pokémon Co. International Inc. of failing to protect employees and visitors from Ben Tsai, the former director of engineering.

Tsai was arrested last month and charged with first-degree dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, first-degree possession of those depictions, first-degree voyeurism, and second-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
Authorities say they found hundreds of videos from the office bathroom, as well as recordings allegedly taken in a local Starbucks restroom and inside Tsai's own home.

Jane Doe, who worked for the company for five years, seeks to represent others who used the bathroom between 2017 and July 25, 2026.
The lawsuit claims Pokémon failed to adequately supervise Tsai or address signs of his alleged behavior.

Barshis, Tsai's criminal lawyer, told Law360 that Tsai has entered and will enter pleas of not guilty to all charges, emphasizing that he is presumed innocent.

Pokémon declined to comment on the lawsuit.
