A 17-year-old suspect opened fire inside a Maryland mall on Friday night, striking a 13-year-old boy in the leg.

The shooting occurred at Wheaton Mall in Montgomery County, Maryland.
Footage shows shoppers calmly walking before the suspect, dressed in black with a hoodie, suddenly stands up from a table and fires several shots at a group of teens.
Screams fill the air as people scatter. Police reported that a single bullet hit the 13-year-old in the leg.
He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was hurt.
The shooter attempted to flee but was grabbed by an armed security guard and held until police arrived.
He is now in custody, with charges pending. Investigators have not released a motive.
