The shift to a 2nm process node is a major highlight, promising substantial gains in performance and efficiency.

While the official launch is still at least a month away, extensive leaks have already revealed much about the chip.
Here's a breakdown of the expected improvements over the Dimensity 9500.
2nm Process Node
The Dimensity 9600 is almost certain to use TSMC's advanced 2nm node.
This move isn't just a standard size reduction; it marks a major architectural revolution in chip design over a decade.
TSMC's 2nm node introduces a new structure called Gate-All-Around (GAA), which offers near-perfect control over power flow and reduces energy leakage compared to 3nm chips.
The new node is expected to consume about 25–30% less power.
At the same power level, the Dimensity 9600 would use much less power than its predecessor, allowing for higher peak performance.
The chip is rumored to hit nearly 5.0 GHz in peak CPU speed.

The Dimensity 9500 and previous MediaTek chips relied on a single super core for heavy tasks.
The Dimensity 9600 reportedly moves to a 2+3+3 design, featuring two super cores.
