Former UFC light heavyweight title contender Anthony Smith remains in a Nebraska jail, but a judge has set his bond at $500,000, potentially allowing his release pending trial.

The 38-year-old appeared in court in Sarpy County on Wednesday morning, where bond was granted.

Once he posts the required amount, he can be released while awaiting further proceedings.

However, strict conditions accompany his bond. Smith is prohibited from having any contact with his wife, Mikhala Smith.

Smith was arrested Monday evening around 8:45 PM and faces three felony charges: terroristic threats, first-degree false imprisonment, and domestic violence causing serious bodily injury.

The circumstances leading to his arrest remain unclear, though the no-contact order suggests his wife may have been involved in the incident.

If convicted, Smith could face up to 26 years in prison. He could be released as early as Thursday morning if he meets the bond conditions.
