A judge has ordered Justin Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, to pay $171,616 in legal fees to The New York Times.
The ruling comes after Baldoni's defamation lawsuit against the newspaper was dismissed earlier this summer.
Baldoni and Wayfarer had sued The Times for $250 million, alleging the paper published a defamatory article about the drama on the set of "It Ends With Us."
They also filed a separate $400 million lawsuit against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, claiming a smear campaign.
The Times countersued under New York's anti-SLAPP law, arguing the lawsuit was meritless and intended to harass.
The judge agreed, ordering Wayfarer to cover the newspaper's legal costs.
Baldoni also faces a separate order to pay Blake Lively's legal fees, though the amount is still being determined.
Lively is seeking over $8 million.
