Tony Romo has pulled out of a golf tournament in Texas just days after his arrest for operating a vehicle while under the influence.
The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback was scheduled to compete in the 56th M&P Group Texas State Open this week, an event he has played in annually.
However, the Cascades Country Club, the host venue, announced Sunday that Romo would not participate in 2026.
"Although we're disappointed he won't be joining us, we're still looking forward to an exciting week of competitive golf," the club told local station KLTV.
A planned Q&A session on Monday has also been canceled.
Romo was arrested Thursday after being pulled over on a high-rise bridge while driving southbound on I-43 in Wisconsin.
He had just finished competing in the 125th Wisconsin Amateur Championship, where he finished 35-over par.
Officers reported that he performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. His mug shot showed him grinning.
Romo, now a CBS Sports analyst, is known as one of the best athlete-golfers and has participated in numerous tournaments over the years.
