Carly Simon has revealed she is facing serious health challenges. The 83-year-old singer announced she has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and skin cancer.
The "You're So Vain" star shared the news over the weekend. She said she underwent surgery for basal cell carcinoma in addition to receiving treatment for Parkinson's.
Simon broke her silence because fans have been asking if she is okay after she stepped away from the public eye for several years.
Her last public performance was in 2019 at Carnegie Hall.
Despite her health struggles, Simon emphasized she has not stopped living or working. She is preparing to release "Comes in Waves," her first full-length album since 2008.
Simon spoke about the pain, exhaustion, and mental toll of her conditions.
But she ended her announcement on a positive note, saying she moves more slowly and leans on others more, but is still very much here.
