Dianna Russini is facing renewed scrutiny after body camera footage contradicted her account of a traffic stop in New Jersey.
The former NFL reporter for The Athletic was pulled over in January for using her phone while driving.

The interaction was captured on video and posted Monday on X by Adam Herbets of Center Square.
In the footage, the officer asks for Russini's license and registration.
She explains she is an NFL journalist who just broke news about Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott's firing and was sending a tweet.
Russini then asks the officer if he is a Giants or Jets fan.

He says he is a Vikings fan, prompting her to show him a text exchange with Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell on her phone.
She was let off without a ticket.
However, in February, Russini appeared on the radio show "Stugotz and Company" and claimed she had FaceTimed O'Connell during the stop.
The body cam video clearly shows no such call took place.

The false claim was also repeated in a New York Times article about Russini published last week.
This incident follows a previous scandal in April, when photos emerged of Russini hugging and holding hands with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel at a resort in Sedona, Arizona.
The New York Post also published pictures of the two kissing at a bar in 2020. Both are married to other people.
Russini denied an affair with Vrabel but resigned from The Athletic amid the media frenzy.

Vrabel said he would take accountability for the distraction and is working on his marriage.
