Dr. Tony Fauci's lawyer is hitting back at Aaron Rodgers after the four-time NFL MVP unleashed a tirade against the former health official this week.
In a statement to The Athletic, attorney David Schertler said, "Aaron Rodgers doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

He should stick to football."
Rodgers went on a rant during an appearance on Pat McAfee's show, criticizing Fauci for pleading the Fifth Amendment during a recent Capitol Hill hearing.
"I’m gonna plead the Fifth, like that absolute coward Tony Fauci. Absolute coward," Rodgers said.

"You got a pardon and you pleaded [the Fifth] over 100 times? What are you scared of, Tony?
I thought you were the science?"
The quarterback also called Fauci an "absolute criminal."

The Pittsburgh Steelers also weighed in on Rodgers' comments, but their response was more measured.
"Discussions around culture and politics can bring differing perspectives, and our players are entitled to their own personal views," a team spokesman said Tuesday.
"With respect to that, I'm certain there are a variety of opinions on many topics within our locker room."

Rodgers also took a shot at ESPN's Dianna Russini, accusing the network of ignoring an offseason scandal. A response from Russini's lawyer may be forthcoming.
