Friends of late looksmaxxer Connor Murphy were so alarmed by his behavior that they tried to contact his family for an intervention just one day before he died.
Connor's former roommate and close friend, Tony Huge, told TMZ that Connor's "weird" actions prompted him and others to reach out to his family.
They hoped to bring back the "old" Connor.
Tony said they were unable to reach anyone in Connor's family. The next day, Connor drowned in a lake in Thailand after fleeing from police.
Tony explained that Connor often played a "character" version of himself for social media stunts and pranks.
However, he began keeping the mask on and would only revert to his normal self when Tony urged him.
Tony said he tried to guide Connor but had limited authority over him. He never expected death to be the outcome of his extreme behavior.
Connor Murphy rose to fame on YouTube with bodybuilding and fitness content mixed with pranks. Recently, he shifted to looksmaxxing content, continuing his over-the-top videos.
His death occurred Tuesday after he drowned in a local lake. Police had been called due to his concerning public behavior.
