Hayden Panettiere's remains have been released from a South Carolina coroner's office and are now in the hands of her family.
A representative for the Greenville Coroner's Office confirmed that the actress's body was transferred Tuesday night to a mortuary selected by her family.
The coroner's office did not disclose the mortuary's name, leaving that decision to the family's discretion.
The family was notified Tuesday that Hayden's remains were ready for release after her death from a possible drug overdose.

According to a police report, Hayden's on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother, Zach, were present in the Greenville apartment after her possible overdose on Sunday.
Zach and Brian called 911, and sources say Zach found Hayden while Brian was initially asleep in a separate room.
Police pronounced Hayden dead at the scene.
The coroner's office is awaiting toxicology test results before releasing her cause and manner of death.
