The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and Dimensity 8350 are two popular mid-range mobile processors targeting the same price segment but with different strengths.

The Snapdragon chip is optimized for sustained performance and power efficiency, while the Dimensity focuses on raw benchmark scores with aggressive CPU speeds and flagship memory support.

Spec Sheet Overview

Both chips are built on a 4nm TSMC process.

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 features a 1+3+4 CPU core configuration with Cortex-A720 and A520 cores, while the Dimensity 8350 uses Cortex-A715 and A510 cores at higher clock speeds.

The Snapdragon packs an Adreno 810 GPU with Snapdragon Elite Gaming, whereas the Dimensity uses a Mali-G615 MP6 GPU with ray tracing support.

Memory support differs: LPDDR5 up to 3.2 GHz on Snapdragon versus LPDDR5X up to 4.2 GHz on Dimensity.

Storage also varies, with UFS 3.1 on Snapdragon and UFS 4.0 on Dimensity.

Benchmark Scores

In Geekbench, the Dimensity 8350 scores 1,324 single-core and 3,971 multi-core, outperforming the Snapdragon's 1,228 and 3,152.

The multi-core gap is 25%.

AnTuTu results show a 47% lead for the Dimensity, scoring 1.72 million versus 1.16 million.

GPU difference is massive at 151%, while CPU, memory, and UX scores are 14%, 25%, and 48% higher respectively.

However, the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test reveals stability differences.

The Dimensity achieves a high score of 3,067 but drops to 1,622 (52.9% stability), while the Snapdragon maintains 99.2% stability with scores of 1,128 and 1,121.

Key Differences

The Dimensity 8350 offers higher peak performance but suffers from thermal throttling, whereas the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 delivers consistent performance over time.

The Dimensity supports ray tracing, while the Snapdragon includes features like Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0 and Game Super Resolution.

For cameras, the Dimensity has a 14-bit ISP supporting up to 320MP sensors and 4K/60fps video, compared to the Snapdragon's 12-bit ISP with 200MP and 4K/30fps.

Connectivity-wise, the Dimensity reaches 5.17 Gbps on sub-6 GHz, while the Snapdragon supports mmWave and aptX Lossless audio.
