Vivo has confirmed that the upcoming X Fold 6 will be the first smartphone to feature the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor, a custom chipset developed in collaboration with MediaTek.

According to Vivo, the project began nearly two years ago with the goal of creating a platform tailored specifically for foldable devices.

The customized chip is designed to improve multitasking, multi-threaded processing, and multi-window rendering.

AI Performance Boost

Vivo claims peak AI processing performance has increased by 111 percent compared to the previous generation, while power consumption has been reduced by 56 percent.

This allows the device to handle intensive AI features without excessive battery drain.

A newly developed AI voice engine delivers seven times faster offline transcription speeds and a seven percent improvement in recognition accuracy.

Summary generation speeds have improved by 57 percent, benefiting users of AI-powered meeting tools.

The AI File Manager has also received enhancements, with text summarization and AI question-and-answer responses now around 20 percent faster.

Vivo will introduce a new AI topic-based question feature as well.

The custom chipset powers a concurrency engine for the upgraded Atomic Workbench experience, allowing multiple applications to run simultaneously with smoother window switching and file-dragging operations.

The Vivo X Fold 6 will debut with OriginOS 6 Fold, offering deeper software and hardware integration for AI-driven productivity.

Reports indicate the device will pack a 6,900mAh battery and feature a 200-megapixel main camera, along with 50-megapixel ultra-wide and periscope telephoto lenses.

A side-facing fingerprint sensor is expected for security.
