Xiaomi has revealed a home charging robotic arm that automatically plugs and unplugs an electric vehicle charging gun, eliminating the need for drivers to handle cables manually.

The device features a slim 152mm body width, allowing it to fit into tight home parking spaces. Users can control the arm remotely through a smartphone app.

Part of a growing home charging lineup

The robotic arm joins Xiaomi’s expanding portfolio of home charging products, which includes fixed charging piles and portable chargers.

Xiaomi currently offers a 7kW home charging station measuring 400mm x 180mm x 120mm, running on 220V single-phase power with a 640g charging gun.

The 11kW model shares the same dimensions but uses 380V three-phase power and a 770g charging gun.

For portable needs, Xiaomi provides the Mijia Car Portable Charger and Discharge Gun, which delivers 2.8kW charging output and 3.5kW discharge output from standard 220V household power.

Xiaomi’s interest in automated charging is not new.

When the company introduced its Xiaomi Pilot autonomous driving solution, automatic robotic arm charging was listed alongside autonomous valet parking as a planned feature.

The new home arm appears to bring that vision to everyday use.
