Spectacular Smith, a member of the R&B/hip-hop group Pretty Ricky, is being sued by an Arizona woman who alleges he sexually assaulted her after contacting her on Instagram.
The lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, was filed in August by a woman named Alexis Dieng.
Dieng claims Smith first reached out to her in October of last year, asking for restaurant recommendations.
According to the complaint, Smith then cultivated her trust and arranged to meet her in person.
The suit states Smith initially provided a meeting location but later changed it to a residence in Maricopa County.
Dieng says she arrived alone at the residence around 10:30 PM the next day.
She alleges Smith initiated physical contact and then engaged in sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
Dieng further claims Smith placed his hands on her neck and applied pressure, restricting her ability to breathe.
She also alleges Smith recorded all or part of the incident without her consent.
Benjamin Taylor, an attorney for Dieng, told TMZ, "We plan to seek justice for our client."
Smith is best known as a founding member of Pretty Ricky, which scored hits like "Grind With Me" and "Your Body."
The Miami native later pivoted into entrepreneurship, founding the social media company Adwizar.
TMZ has reached out to Smith for comment but has not received a response so far.
