Fresh leaks have revealed key specifications for Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Wide), suggesting notable improvements in weight, battery, and display crease reduction.

Lighter and larger battery

The Z Fold 8 (Wide) is tipped to weigh just 201g, down from 215g on the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

This weight reduction comes despite a rumored larger 4,800mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging.

The inner display is said to measure around 7.8 inches with a 4:3 aspect ratio, while the outer screen comes in at 5.4 inches.

The wider layout aims to improve multitasking, reading, and video playback.

Display crease improvements

Samsung has reportedly made significant strides in minimizing the display crease.

Early indications suggest it could match or even outperform the crease on Oppo's latest foldables, though this will need verification upon official release.

Camera hardware may be more restrained compared to the Fold 7.

The Z Fold 8 (Wide) is expected to feature a dual-camera setup led by a 50MP main sensor paired with an ultra-wide camera.

A native 24MP shooting mode is also rumored.

The move away from the Fold 7's 200MP main sensor suggests Samsung is maintaining a clearer distinction between the wider Fold model and the anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

Performance and launch

Under the hood, the device is expected to pack Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, up to 16GB of RAM, and storage options reaching 1TB.

Samsung is widely expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series at its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22.

As with all leaks, these specifications should be treated with caution until officially confirmed.
