Asus has unveiled the 2026 version of its TUF Gaming 16 laptop, bringing current-generation Intel and Nvidia hardware along with practical design improvements.
The laptop can be configured with up to an Intel Core i7-14650HX processor, which has eight performance cores and eight efficiency cores with a peak clock speed of 5.2GHz.

For graphics, Asus offers up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with a maximum Total Graphics Power (TGP) of 85W.
This power limit is not the highest available for a mobile RTX 5070, indicating Asus prioritizes power efficiency and temperature control over maximum frame rates.
The GPU supports Nvidia's DLSS 4 upscaling to boost performance in demanding games.
The cooling system uses dual 80-blade fans and three heat pipes, keeping fan noise at or below 40dB under full load in Turbo Mode.

For a gaming laptop, 40dB is relatively quiet, preventing the machine from sounding overwhelmingly loud during heavy use.
The cooling system also includes integrated dust filters and routes air over the motherboard to cool surface-mounted components.
Externally, the laptop has an all-black finish with an anti-fingerprint coating on the keyboard deck.
The screen hinge opens flat to 180 degrees, and the laptop carries a MIL-STD-810H durability rating for basic drop and vibration resistance.

Asus moved bulky connections—the power jack, HDMI, and Ethernet ports—to the back of the laptop.
The sides house three USB-A ports and one USB-C port that supports DisplayPort 2.1 and USB power delivery.
Memory and storage are fully upgradeable, with configurations up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM and a 2TB SSD available out of the box.
Users can also open the chassis to swap the dual RAM and SSD sticks themselves later.
