The iQOO 16 and OnePlus 16 are both nearing their launches, with the iQOO 16 expected in China by late September and the OnePlus 16 possibly in October.
A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station reveals distinct camera approaches for the two performance flagships.
Camera hardware differences
The iQOO 16 is said to feature a triple-camera setup with three 50-megapixel sensors.
Its main sensor is a 50MP OV50Q with a 1/1.3-inch size, joined by a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom.
The OnePlus 16, on the other hand, is tipped to sport a 200-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor.
It could be paired with a 50MP ultrawide and the same 50MP Sony IMX882 for 3x periscope telephoto shots.
On paper, the iQOO 16's larger main sensor may offer better low-light performance, while the OnePlus 16's high-resolution main camera could provide more detail.
Other expected specs
Both phones are expected to feature high-refresh-rate displays: a 2K 165Hz Samsung AMOLED panel for the iQOO 16 and a 1.5K 185Hz OLED for the OnePlus 16.
They are likely powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip, with batteries of 8,400mAh and 9,000mAh respectively.
Both may support 100W wired charging, while wireless charging could reach 40W on the iQOO 16 and 50W on the OnePlus 16.
Software-wise, they are expected to run Android 17 with OriginOS 7 and ColorOS 17, respectively.
