Apple's long-rumored foldable iPhone is reportedly closer to launch, with new details emerging about its branding and pricing.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple may call its first foldable smartphone the iPhone Duo, rather than the previously rumored iPhone Ultra.
The name is said to highlight the device's dual-screen design and distinguish it from the existing iPhone lineup.
The entry-level model could cost $2,000 and come with 256GB of storage.
Higher storage configurations might push the price close to $3,000, or around Rs 2.5 lakh.
Apple is said to face higher production costs partly due to the ongoing memory shortage, but may absorb some expenses to keep the base model near $2,000.
The company could instead pass more cost to buyers opting for higher storage capacities.
The iPhone Duo is reportedly expected to go on sale as early as October, with white and dark blue color options.
This would place its availability after the expected iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max launch, though the gap may not be long.
Other reports suggest the foldable iPhone will feature Apple's A20 Pro chip and C2 modem, along with two 48-megapixel rear cameras and a 12-megapixel front camera.
A magnetic hinge system is also expected, and Apple Pencil support could bring a more tablet-like experience to the larger internal display.
Rumors also point to side-by-side app support and iPad-style multitasking.
