Xiaomi has teased a Ceramic Special Edition of its upcoming Xiaomi 18 Fold, just hours before the official launch.
Lu Weibing, Xiaomi's partner and president of the mobile phone division, showcased the device in a soft pink finish, noting that each unit features a unique color.
The special edition retains the same design as the standard model, with no extra decorative flourishes.
The highlight is the delicate pink ceramic finish, giving the phone a soft and elegant look.
Standard color options include Warm Gold White, Black, and Western Red.
Design and Display
The Xiaomi 18 Fold features an ultra-narrow four-sided equal-bezel design with large super-elliptical rounded corners.
It has a racetrack-shaped camera module on the back and a completely flat wraparound frame for a minimalist look.
Xiaomi calls it a new 'mid-fold' form factor.
Both the outer 5.38-inch screen and the inner 7.58-inch display use a paper-like √2:1 aspect ratio and are protected by double-layer UTG ultra-thin glass.
Performance and Cameras
Under the hood, it is powered by Xiaomi's new Xring O3 flagship chip, which has scored over 5.22 million points on AnTuTu.
It is also among the first phones to use Changxin LPDDR6 memory, with bandwidth up to 113.8 GB/s.
The Leica-branded cameras include a 200MP main sensor (1/1.56-inch), a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.
Unique shooting modes allow using the phone closed like a point-and-shoot with a large 4:3 viewfinder, or getting a real-time HD preview on the outer screen when open.
Battery and Pricing
The device packs a 6000mAh battery with 20% silicon content and 920 Wh/L energy density, supporting 67W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Lu Weibing has indicated the price will exceed 10,000 yuan, positioning it in the high-end segment.
The full reveal is scheduled for later today at 7:00 PM China time.
