Bill Dundee, a legendary figure in professional wrestling, has died at the age of 82.
His son, Jamie Dundee, announced the sad news on Sunday, revealing that his father passed away at approximately 3:30 AM.
No cause of death has been publicly disclosed.
Dundee rose to prominence in the wrestling world, famously teaming with and feuding against Jerry "The King" Lawler.
Their long-standing rivalry became a defining part of wrestling history.
Born in Scotland and raised in Australia, Dundee began his wrestling career in the 1960s before moving to the United States.
He spent decades performing and also worked as a booker in several wrestling territories.
His career included stints with Jim Crockett Promotions and other major regional promotions, as well as a run in WCW during the 1990s.
In 2017, Dundee was inducted into the Memphis Wrestling Hall of Fame.
His final match took place in 2019.
In recent years, Dundee faced serious health issues, including a dementia diagnosis that his son had previously revealed.
Just one day before his death, Memphis Wrestling honored Dundee during its September 5 episode, where roster members greeted the longtime star.
