Tom Cruise is returning to the racetrack with a sequel to his 1990 NASCAR hit, 'Days of Thunder.'
The new film, titled 'Days of Thunder 2,' will star Anne Hathaway and is set for release on June 2, 2028.

Cruise will reprise his role as Cole Trickle, while Hathaway plays a team owner and engineer.

The announcement came Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway.
TMZ obtained video showing Cruise entering the venue through a VIP area before his speech to NASCAR executives.

In a promo posted on Instagram, Cruise and Hathaway are seen leaning against a stock car with the sequel's name.

Cruise said his goal is to let audiences understand the team, community, speed, excitement, and danger of NASCAR.
