The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro focuses on premium performance and cutting-edge hardware. The Redmi Pad Pro 2 aims to deliver a large-screen experience at a much lower price.

Design and Display

The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro features a slim 5.8mm aluminum body weighing just 485g. It remains portable and comfortable for long reading or gaming sessions.

The Redmi Pad Pro 2 is larger and heavier at around 600g+, feeling more like a laptop replacement.

However, it adds Gorilla Glass 3 protection, optional matte glass, IP53 protection, and cellular connectivity options.

For display, the Pad 8 Pro has an 11.2-inch 3.2K IPS panel with 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and 800 nits brightness.

Its 345ppi density makes text and media look crisper.

The Redmi Pad Pro 2 counters with a larger 12.1-inch display, better for split-screen work.

But its 120Hz panel, lower resolution, and 249ppi density cannot match the sharpness of the Pad 8 Pro.

Performance and Software

The performance gap is enormous.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with up to 16GB RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

It is designed for high-end gaming, multitasking, video editing, and AI workloads.

The Redmi Pad Pro 2 uses the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, a capable mid-range chip for streaming, browsing, note-taking, and casual gaming.

Demanding games and heavy multitasking reveal a significant difference.

Both tablets run HyperOS, but the Pad 8 Pro ships with newer Android 16-based HyperOS 3, offering a longer software runway.

Battery and Charging

Battery capacity favors the Redmi Pad Pro 2 with its massive 12,000mAh cell. Combined with a mid-range processor, it delivers extended media consumption and work sessions.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro houses a smaller 9,200mAh battery, but the efficient Snapdragon 8 Elite helps maintain strong endurance.

Charging is much faster at 67W versus 33W on the Redmi.

Both tablets support magnetic stylus accessories. The Pad 8 Pro benefits from premium ecosystem integration, while the Redmi offers expandable storage via microSD.

Price and Verdict

The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is priced at around ₹47,000 ($500). The Redmi Pad Pro 2 costs about ₹20,000 ($240), offering outstanding value.

For overall display quality, portability, and premium performance, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro clearly leads.
