James Haven, the brother of Angelina Jolie and son of Jon Voight, has publicly come out as gay.

The revelation came months after his split from ex-wife Romi Imbelli.

The two appeared together on Romi's Substack live stream, where they discussed how their relationship evolved and how James shared his truth.

James came out to Romi when they reconnected, and during the stream, he read a letter about his sexuality.

In the letter, James recalled his childhood obsession with Disney princesses.

He would secretly put glitter on his cheeks and mascara on his lashes, feeling like magic in those moments.

He said he didn't have the language back then to explain why it made him feel more like himself.

It was never about pretending to be someone else, but about letting a part of himself shine that had always been there.

As he grew older, he began to wonder if that sparkle was something he had to hide to be accepted by the 'normal' boys around him.

Like many gay kids, he learned to question parts of himself before learning to celebrate them.

James dimmed his light to fit in, but now he wishes he could tell his younger self to be true.

He explained that he was tired of hiding and ready to tell the truth about who he is.

He emphasized that coming out isn't about becoming someone new, but about allowing others to meet the person who has been there all along.

His letter continued with a hope that his family and others can choose love over fear, understanding over judgment, and connection over beliefs that may have kept them apart.

He hopes they can look beyond labels and see him with the same heart, laugh, and soul they've always known.

James expressed pride in the person he has become and gratitude that he no longer feels the need to apologize for the parts of him that make him who he is.

He wrote that the little boy with glitter on his face and mascara on his lashes was never confused, broken, or ashamed.

He was simply gay, joyful, and brave before he even knew it.
