A new leak suggests Motorola will soon launch another G-series smartphone in India.

The upcoming Motorola G Max is expected to debut around mid-August with a different hardware configuration than the version released in Brazil earlier this year.

Tipster Abhishek Yadav claims the device will launch around August 15 and carry a price tag of approximately Rs 30,000 (~$315).

This places it in the upper mid-range segment.

Different chipset and camera for India

Unlike the Brazilian model, which uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6400, the Indian variant is said to feature the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset.

This is the same processor that powers the Redmi Note 17 Pro.

The phone is also tipped to come with LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 primary camera.

Motorola is expected to offer two major Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates.

While this software policy aligns with what many brands currently provide in the segment, the hardware suggests Motorola may be positioning the Indian model differently from its global counterpart.

The Motorola G Max launched in Brazil with the Dimensity 6400 chipset, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage.

It also featured a 200-megapixel primary camera with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 32-megapixel front camera, a 5,200mAh battery with 33W charging, and a 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED display supporting a 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness.

The device also carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and MIL-STD-810H durability certifications.

If the leaked specifications prove accurate, the Indian Motorola G Max could prioritize affordability over flagship-grade camera hardware while retaining premium memory technologies.
