Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Projector 5 in China, a new entry-level smart projector priced at 999 yuan (around $148).
It is now available through Xiaomi Youpin and JD. com.
Design and features
The projector features an integrated metal gimbal stand with 360-degree tilt adjustment, allowing it to project onto walls or ceilings.
Its textured white chassis houses a custom sealed optical engine that keeps dust away from internal components, enhancing durability and reducing maintenance.
For display, it offers native 1080p resolution, a 1.2:1 throw ratio, and support for screen sizes up to 120 inches.
Brightness is rated at 400 CVIA lumens, and it carries SGS low blue light certification to reduce eye strain during long viewing sessions.
Setup is simplified with a ToF laser sensing module that enables automatic focus and keystone correction.
It can quickly adjust the image after being moved and supports up to 20 degrees of side projection for flexible placement.
Internally, the Redmi Projector 5 is powered by a MediaTek MT9-series processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
It includes a Bluetooth voice remote with voice search and playback controls.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, wireless screen casting from smartphones and PCs, and multiple ports for external devices.
It also integrates with Xiaomi HyperConnect, enabling smart home automations with compatible devices like lights and curtains.
