Chris Brown has officially filed a notice to challenge the nearly $13 million judgment against him in a dog attack lawsuit, seeking a new trial.
The singer and his company, Black Pyramid LLC, submitted the notice in Los Angeles on Friday, according to documents obtained by TMZ.

The move comes after a judgment was entered on July 16.
A jury earlier this month found Brown liable for injuries caused by his 200-pound Caucasian shepherd, Hades, which attacked his housekeeper, Maria Avila, in December 2020.

The incident occurred at his Tarzana, California home while she was emptying trash. Damages were set at $12.9 million.
Avila sustained injuries to her arm and face, requiring dozens of sutures and skin grafts. She also reported nerve damage that has made it difficult to work.
In the new filing, Brown's legal team argues several grounds for a new trial, including irregularity in the proceedings that prevented a fair trial, jury misconduct, insufficient evidence of his innocence, and excessive damages.

Hearing Scheduled
A hearing on the notice of intention to move for a new trial is set for September 22.
The judge will hear arguments and decide on next steps.

Brown is currently on "The R&B" tour with Usher. The hearing falls between their shows in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
