CBS Sports has confirmed that Tony Romo is on leave from his broadcasting duties following his recent OWI arrest.

The network told TMZ Sports that the former quarterback is "on leave" until further notice, just over a week after his arrest in Wisconsin.

Officers suspected Romo of driving drunk when they pulled him over.

The NFL season is set to begin in September, and it remains unclear if Romo will return before Week 1.

According to a previous report, Romo told an officer he had consumed zero drinks before leaving a golf course in Milwaukee.

He has not publicly commented on the arrest.

Romo has also backed out of a scheduled appearance at a tournament in Texas this week.

Newly released body camera footage shows Romo telling police he was on his way to visit his grandparents when he was stopped.
