Xiaomi has added a new everyday carry bag to its lineup with the Mijia Large-Capacity Business Backpack 2, now listed on its Youpin platform.
The backpack enters crowdfunding tomorrow at an introductory price of 449 yuan ($66), after which it will retail for 599 yuan ($88).
Design and build
The backpack features a straightforward design aimed at commuters and short-trip travelers. It is constructed from high-density nylon with microfiber leather accents.
Xiaomi says the exterior uses Liteshield-developed fabric that resists water, oil, and stains.
The material reportedly passed 50,000 abrasion cycles in lab testing, indicating durability for daily use.
Storage and compartments
Inside, the bag offers 23 liters of capacity, which Xiaomi compares to a small 14-inch suitcase.
A dual-compartment structure separates office equipment from personal items, making it suitable for trips of one to three days.
For tech gear, there is a dedicated 16-inch laptop compartment with a suspended design to cushion impacts.
It is lined with soft velvet padding, and an accessories section organizes chargers, cables, and mice.
Additional storage includes an accordion-style front pocket, a top pocket for IDs or earbuds, and a magnetic pouch for a phone or keys.
Two side pockets hold a 500ml water bottle or umbrella, with water-resistant lining to prevent wet items from soaking the main compartments.
Comfort and travel features
The backpack has wide, padded shoulder straps and a mesh back panel with airflow channels for ventilation.
A padded top handle and a pass-through strap allow it to slide over a rolling suitcase handle.
