Stockbridge, Georgia's 22-year-old mayor, Jayden Williams, is under investigation for his alleged spending habits, just six months after taking office.

The city council passed a resolution last week restricting Williams' access to non-public areas, city vehicles, and city funds, including his city-issued credit card.

Williams was ordered to surrender his credit card and stop using city-owned cars.

Mayor pro tem Elton Alexander said it was unclear if Williams complied by the Monday deadline, but officials noted the card can be deactivated remotely.

Alexander stated that the council received "information" raising red flags about Williams' spending. The specific items or amounts involved remain undisclosed.

Williams has not been charged with a crime as of Wednesday, and the investigation is ongoing. He can still preside over council meetings and perform other mayoral duties.
