Xiaomi's next-generation wide foldable smartphone and the Pad 9 tablet have cleared important regulatory hurdles in China. The certifications suggest both devices are nearing their official launch.
Foldable Smartphone Gets CMIIT Certification
A Xiaomi device with model number 2608BPX34C has appeared in China's MIIT database.
Reports identify it as the company's upcoming foldable, which may be called the Xiaomi 17 Fold, Mix Fold 5, or Mix Fold 6.
The foldable is expected to feature a wider design with a 7.6-inch inner display.
It will likely be powered by Xiaomi's in-house Xring O3 chipset and run HyperOS 4 based on Android 17.
Other rumored specs include a 200-megapixel primary camera and a 6,000mAh battery with wireless charging support.
The "2608" prefix in the model number hints at an August launch in China, though global availability remains unconfirmed.
Xiaomi Pad 9 Receives 3C Certification
The Xiaomi Pad 9, model number M656BA, has passed China's 3C certification. It was listed with an MDY-17-EE charger that supports 45W charging.
The tablet is expected to be an incremental upgrade over the Pad 8.
It may retain an 11.2-inch LCD display with 3K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, paired with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset.
Battery capacity could increase to 9,720mAh, up from 9,200mAh in the Pad 8. The device is likely to ship with HyperOS 4 based on Android 17.
According to reports, the Xiaomi Pad 9 will debut alongside the Xiaomi 18 series in China in September.
It is also expected to launch in other markets, including India, in the following months.
