A man was shot and killed just steps from the Santa Monica Pier early Monday, and the gunman remains at large, authorities said.
Santa Monica police responded to the shooting around 12:30 AM in a parking lot adjacent to the popular landmark.
Video from the scene shows officers swarming the area, with evidence markers placed near the victim's body, which remained uncovered on the pavement as of Monday morning.
Footage also captured someone administering life-saving measures after the shooting.
Police have not disclosed a motive or released the victim's identity, describing him only as an adult male.
The shooting occurred after a busy weekend in Santa Monica, where crowds gathered at the beach to escape the heat and attended a World Cup watch party.
