ZTE has introduced the G5 Max 5G CPE, a new cellular router designed for both indoor and outdoor use.

com with a standard price of 2,499 yuan ($369) and an introductory price of 2,419 yuan ($357).
Outdoor-Ready Build and Connectivity
The G5 Max features an IP65-rated enclosure that protects against dust and water. It can operate in temperatures from -40°C to +55°C.
Measuring 225 x 142 x 48 mm and weighing about 800 grams, the unit includes mounting hardware for walls and light poles, plus a desktop stand.

A 2.5GbE network port on the bottom supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing a single cable to provide both data and power.
This eliminates the need for an outdoor electrical outlet.
Performance and Networking
Inside, the router runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon X75 5G platform, supporting a wide range of global 5G and 4G LTE bands, including the n79 band.
A 13dBi high-gain antenna system with 4x4 MIMO helps maintain connections in weak coverage areas.

For cellular access, it has a standard 4FF SIM card slot and an embedded SIM option.
The router supports Wi-Fi 7 (IEEE 802.11be) and is backward compatible with older Wi-Fi protocols, offering wireless speeds up to 3600Mbps and handling up to 64 connected devices.
Software management is done via the ZTE Smart Life app, enabling local or remote network monitoring.

Features include bandwidth allocation, parental controls, and VPN support for L2TP and PPTP protocols.
