A 10-year-old boy from Kansas City has died after wandering away from his home while sleepwalking, authorities said.
Jackson Georgari's body was discovered around 12:30 PM on Thursday in a pond near Briarcliff Village, about a mile from his residence.

First responders pulled the child from the water and attempted life-saving measures, but he could not be revived.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Kansas City Police, Jackson's family told investigators he had a history of sleepwalking.

He is believed to have left his home in the middle of the night.

Police reported no obvious signs of foul play, but the case remains an active death investigation. The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
