The clip appears to depict a tense argument among several people near the shoreline, with boats lining the beach.

Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter told TMZ his office is aware of the video and is actively looking into it as part of the ongoing investigation.

However, authorities have not verified the footage's authenticity or confirmed any link to Wells' death.

Wells, 18, vanished after spending July Fourth on Horn Island with friends, a popular boating destination off Mississippi's Gulf Coast.
