Brad Pitt has secured another legal victory as an appeals court overturned a lower court's decision that allowed Stoli Group head Yuri Shefler to avoid involvement in the winery dispute between Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

According to court documents filed earlier this week, the appeals court found it "defies credulity that Shefler, a sophisticated businessman, would risk almost $40 million on a transaction about which he knew nothing and with which he had no involvement."

The ruling means Shefler cannot escape the case on jurisdictional grounds and may be required to testify about Stoli Group's purchase of Jolie's stake in Château Miraval.

This is Pitt's second major win this month. Earlier, a court ordered Alexey Oliynik, also from Stoli Group, to testify by September 30.

Jolie sold her stake in the winery in 2021.

Pitt later filed a lawsuit, alleging she sold it to harm him during their divorce and custody battle.

In April, Jolie requested to delay the trial, while Pitt has asked for it to proceed as scheduled in early 2027.
