A security guard in Northern California has been arrested and charged with two felonies after allegedly firing a taser dart into a bar patron's face, police said.
The incident occurred Wednesday night at Park 101 in Carlsbad, California. A witness captured the altercation on video and posted it online, where it quickly went viral.

In the footage, the patron is seen talking with several security guards when one guard pulls out a taser and fires a dart into the young man's face at point-blank range.
The victim falls to the ground in pain, and a bystander rushes to help.

Carlsbad police officers on patrol were flagged down by witnesses and responded to the scene.
A police spokesperson told TMZ that officers arrested the guard, identified as David Marquez, after reviewing the video.

Marquez was booked into the Vista County jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and assault with a stun gun, both felonies.
The victim was taken to a trauma center for treatment. The extent of his injuries is not yet known.

Police are investigating a motive for the attack.
