Lionel Richie has postponed his next two concerts after experiencing a health scare during his Wednesday night performance in Minnesota.
The singer was hospitalized after cutting his show short at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul.

Richie told the audience he felt "dizzy" and "strange" before sitting down on a stage platform while singing "Dancing on the Ceiling."
The United Center announced that doctors advised Richie to rest and return to full health.

His Friday show in Chicago, Illinois, and Saturday concert in Columbus, Ohio, have been postponed. No makeup dates have been announced yet.
Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire are scheduled to resume their tour on Tuesday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The United Center stated that Richie is "heartbroken to postpone these two shows and cannot wait to be back performing for his fans."
Earth, Wind & Fire drummer John Paris told the Minnesota Star Tribune that Richie was "a little dehydrated." No further details about his condition have been released.

The incident occurred during the first night of Richie's joint tour with Earth, Wind & Fire. The tour includes 26 concerts total, ending August 14 in Austin, Texas.
